MIAL begins roll out of Duty Free Retail at Mumbai international airport | INRnews

Mumbai, India, March 08, 2008 - Mumbai International Airport Private Limited (MIAL) today announced the roll out of the new duty free retail experience for passengers at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) in Mumbai. In the first phase, a new duty free area operated by DFS Galleria was opened at the arrivals area of international Terminal 2C at Sahar.

The duty free section will sport a wide variety of shops offering a diverse range of quality international products and brands. In the first phase categories comprising liquour, tobacco, fragrance and food will be available to passengers arriving at CSIA.

The roll out will continue over the next few days to cover the departures area in the international terminal.

The duty free retail contract for CSIA was awarded to the DFS Galleria, which is responsible for designing and building the shopping environment, sourcing a wide range of international luxury brands and developing a strong promotional strategy for duty free shopping.

DFS Galleria is the world's leading luxury travel retailer and operates more than 150 shops at major airports in Asia Pacific and North America including Singapore Changi, Hong Kong, Sydney, Auckland, New York JFK, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Honolulu. DFS also operates 14 luxury Gallerias in key locations. The Group employs 6,500 people and is headquartered in Hong Kong.

DFS Galleria is majority owned by the LVMH Group.
