Pantaloon Retail Launches Big Bazaar in Ranchi | INRnews

Jharkhand Railyway over bridge construction approved | INRnews

New Delhi, India, September 12, 2007 - The Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Thiru T.R. Baalu has approved the construction of Railway over Bridge (ROB) cum Flyover approach over river Subernrekha on NH-33 at Namkum in Jharkhand at a total cost of Rs. 26.30 crore.

SAIL to set up greenfield steel plants in Jharkhand and chhatisgarh | INRnews

New Delhi, India, August 30, 2007 - Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) has planned to set up two greenfield plants, one each in the States of Jharkhand and Chattisgarh.  The plant in Jharkhand, envisages to achieve a capacity of 6 million tonne per annum by 2012-13 and 12 million tonne per annum by 2019-20.  The plant in Chattisgarh also envisages to have a capacity of 4 million tonne per annum and would be joint venture with RINL and NMDC.

Parsvnath to develop city centre in Ranchi | INRnews

Ranchi, India, January 24, 2007 - Real estate player Parsvnath Developers Ltd has won the bid to develop a city centre in Ranchi in Jharkhand. The project value will be around Rs 400 crore. The tentative saleable area of the project will be 10,00,000 lakh sq ft.

Auto industry SEZ in Jharkhand notified

An automobile and auto components industry SEZ in Jharkhand has been notified. The Adityapur SEZ is being developed by the Adityapur industrial area development authority with Gammon and Jusco. The SEZ is is to come up on 36 hectares of land in the Saraikela Kharsawan district of Jharkhand.

Over 10 acres of land allotted to auto ancillary unit in Jharkhand

The Jharkhand govt has moved to allot 10.09 acres of land in Jamshedpur for Steel Strips Wheels Ltd. An auto ancillary company, it will set up a commercial vehicle wheel plant. Production is targeted at meeting Tata Motors' increased demand for MCV and HCV wheels. 

Plans for a joint venture company at Jamshedpur to cater to Tata Motors' demand and use port facilities nearby had been approved two years ago. The shares of the company closed at Rs.140 at the BSE, moving up by 0.29%.

JSW Steel keen to set up power plant in Jharkhand

JSW Steel is interested in setting up a 2000 MW power plant in Jharkhand, and a MOU with the state government would be signed according to the company's joint managing director B N Singh.

Meanwhile there has been good progress on the 10 million tonne steel plant to be set up by JSW Steel. The company has identified 9000 acres of land near Chandil as well as iron ore and coal deposits.

Jamshedpur city development plan submitted

A draft city development plan for the steel city was submittede by UK based consultants Frischmann Prabhu Pvt. Ltd to the East Singhbhum administration. The submission follows a government directive that final city development plans for Ranchi, Jamshedpur & Dhanbad be submitted by Aug 15 in order for the government to invite tenders for preparation of a detailed project report for 13 infrstructure sectores.

The plan submitted proposes a bridge at Mango & Adityapur to reduce traffic congestion, a ring road , and an undepass in Jugsalai. The Union government would fund 50% of the project when approved with the state government funding the rest.
