BOA of SEZs grants 11 formal and 1 in-principle approvals | INRnews

New Delhi, India, January 21, 2008 - The Board of Approval of the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) met here today to consider proposals for setting up of Special Economic Zones and also approve other miscellaneous requests pertaining to SEZs.  In this meeting, 19 proposals for setting up SEZs, including 2 proposals for conversion of in-principle approvals to formal approvals were considered.  The Board recommended grant of 11 Formal approvals (including 2 requests for conversion of In-Principle Approvals to Formal Approvals) and 1 In-principle approval of a Multiproduct SEZ by Reliance Haryana SEZ Limited in Jhajjar District, Haryana.

Global developers respond to RFQ development of world-class railway stations | INRnews

New Delhi, India, December 31, 2007 - The process for prequalification of bidders for the development of 22 railway stations as world class stations has been initiated. A global advertisement in this regard has already been issued by the Ministry of Railways. The Request for Qualification (RFQ) document is now available on the Ministry of Railway’s website http://indianrailways.gov.in. A calendar for bringing the process to the climax of appointing the concessionaire is also available in the RFQ document. Word class developers have already shown interest and good competition is expected. Ministry of Railways has decided to develop 22 railway stations, located in metropolitan cities and major tourist centres, as world class stations through Public Private Partnership (PPP) route be leveraging a part of the real-estate development potential. Required consultancies are being carried out for architectural, technical, financial and legal activities. Needed coordination with local bodies is being carried out by high level committees specially constituted.
