Pipavav Shipyard plans Rs 2900 crore shipyard project | INRnews

Mumbai, India, January 21, 2008 - Pipavav Shipyard Limited is currently constructing a shipyard complex at Pipavav, located on the west coast of India adjacent to the maritime sea lane between the Persian Gulf and Asia. The Shipyard will have an estimated investment of Rs 2,888 crore. Upon completion of construction, the Pipavav Shipyard will be capable of ship construction and repairs for a range of vessels of different sizes and types, as well as the fabrication and construction of   offshore platforms, rigs, jackets and vessels,  for use by oil and gas companies in their exploration and production activities.

BOA of SEZ grants 10 formal and 3 in-principle approvals | INRnews

New Delhi, India, October 19, 2007 - The Board of Approval of the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) has recommended grant of 10 formal and 3 in-principle approvals here today.   The Chairman of the Board, while informing the members stated that including the latest SEZ approvals a total of 395 SEZs formal approvals have been granted. He further informed that out of these, 156 SEZs have been notified and investment of Rs.50,906 crore has taken place  in these notified SEZs providing direct employment to over 72168 persons.

CCEA approves $250 million FDI in SKIL Infrastructure | INRnews

New Delhi, India, October 09, 2007 - The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs today gave its approval for M/s. SKIL Infrastructure Ltd., Mumbai to accept foreign investments from M/s. GL Asia Mauritius II Ltd., Mauritius upto 26% amounting to US$250 million (Approx.Rs.1000 crore) by way of issue of 1 lakh interest accruing secured convertible debentures of Rs.1 lakh each for making downstream investments in M/s. Mumbai SEZ Ltd., M/s. Navi Mumbai SEZ Ltd.,  M/s. Pipavav Shipyard Ltd., M/s. SKIL Himachal Infrastructure and Tourism Ltd., M/s. Gujarat Positra Port Company Ltd. and M/s. Logistics Project; or in such other projects which are compliant with the Foreign Direct Investment policy of the Government of India.

Minister approves road repair works in Gujarat | INRnews

New Delhi, India, September 25, 2007 - The Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Thiru T.R. Baalu has approved a sum of Rs. 4907.57 lakh for strengthening and widening of 23 road stretches in different parts of the state of Gujarat for a total length of Rs. 253.33 km. The approval has been given under the Central Road Fund (CRF) Scheme of the Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport & Highways.
