Mumbai, January 09, 2007 - BSEL Infrastructure Realty Limited in a 50:50 Joint Venture with Unity Infraprojects Limited, has been awarded and allotted an area of 40,000 sq. meters with 1.50 Floor Space Index (FSI) at the “Rajiv Gandhi IT Habitat” at Dona Paula, Goa for developing and constructing an Information Technology Park (IT Park). The project is estimated to be approximately 6,45,600 sq. feet of built-up area.
The Goa Infrastructure Development Corporation Pvt. Ltd. (GIDC), a company floated by Goa's mining industry, is to develop a four-lane bridge in Usgao-Pale area of north Goa at a cost of Rs. 20 crore. The new bridge would help mines in South Goa to transport their ore speedily as compared to the situation now where an existing single lane bridge is creating traffic bottlenecks. Work on the bridge is expected to start in October.
Minister for IT, Mr Dayanand Narvekar, has told the State Assembly that the Goa Government is to allocate up to 30,000 sq metres of land for construction of residential housing near the new IT Park at Dona Paula. The move is aimed at making the IT park more attractive through the development of housing for IT personnel in close proximity to the park, thus avoiding the travel times and congestion seen in cities like Bangalore and Hyderabad. Requests have also been made by the IT industry to develop another IT Park at Soccoro in North Goa.

The Goa Assembly was informed by Industries Minister Luizinho Faleiro that the Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) has allotted more than 11.8 million square metres of land for the development of a pharma park/Special Economic Zone at Keri and other biotech parks in the State.
