Land allotted to pharma companies for SEZ in Andhra Pradesh | INRnews
Hyderabad, November 22, 2006 : Two pharamceutical companies, Aurobindo Pharma and Hetero Drugs have been allotted 75 acres of land each to be the anchor tenants of a proposed formulations SEZ at Jadcherla in Mahbubnagar district of Andhra Pradesh. The two companies will invest Rs. 200 crores to set up export oriented facilities with an employment potential of 2,000.
The SEZ is to come up on a 250 acre site near Hyderabad, located on the Hyderabad - Bangalore highway, 35-km from the new International Airport.
Construction is likely to start early 2007 and the two units are expected to begin commercial production by the end of the year.
The Andhra Pradesh government is looking to attract more pharmaceutical majors to the state as it sees this as a key growth sector.
