CCEA approves moves to expedite implementation of National Highways Project | INRnews

New Delhi, November 09, 2006 - The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs today gave its approval for exemption of Public Private Partnership Appraisal Committee (PPPAC) procedures for selected 12 sub-projects, for the development of four/six laning of National Highways under National Highways Development Project (NHDP) Phase II and IIIA on Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis. Exemption of 12 Sub-Projects of NHDP-II & IIIA from the PPPAC procedures would expedite the implementation of these sub projects.

The eight sub-projects for which bids have been awarded are as follows:

(i)    Tindivanam      -            Ulunderpet

(ii)   Ulunderpet       -            Padalur

(iii)  Padalur            -            Trichy

(iv)  Jhansi              -            Lalitpur

(v)   Gwalior Bypass

(vi)   Lakhnadon      -            Madhya Pradesh / Maharashtra Border

(vii)  Thanjavur        -            Trichy

(viii)  Madurai          -            Tuticorin


The four projects for which bids have been decided are as follows:

(i)                 Maharashtra-Andhra Pradesh Border-Islamnagar-Kadtal-Armur

(ii)                End of Durg Bypass – Chattisgarh / Maharashtra Border

(iii)               Chattisgarh / Maharashtra Border – Wainganga Bridge

(iv)                Kurali – Kiratpur
