Toyota Kirloskar may set up second plant in Karnataka
Mumbai, October 17, 2006 : Toyota Kirloskar Motors may set up its second plant in India near its existing facility in Bidadi, Karnataka, according to the company's deputy managing director KK Swamy. The planned capacity is 1.5 lakh cars per annum.
Though the company has not yet finalised a decision, proximity to its existing plant may influence its decision to set up the second unit in Karnataka. Toyota Motors has invested over Rs.2,500 crore in India and its subsidiary Toyota Kirloskar is targeted to cross Rs.4,000 crore in turnover this year.
