MindTree's opens development center in Chennai | INRnews

Chennai, October 20, 2006 : MindTree Consulting, an IT and R&D services company, has opened a 30,000 sq.ft development center at the Olympia Tech Park in Guindy. In addition to this the company also plans to open a 285,000 sq.ft facility in Mahindra City in Chennai by 2008.

Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology Dayanidhi Maran inaugurating the Chennai development centre said "I am pleased to declare open MindTree's Chennai Operations today and wish them outstanding success in the years to come. In the decades ahead, India will need to produce hundreds of such enterprises so that the larger dream of bringing hope and prosperity to her billion children becomes a reality. I welcome MindTree to Tamil Nadu, not just so it builds great business success for itself, but for its ability to inspire many others who can build high performance organisations."

"MindTree has emerged as one of the premier IT companies in India. In order to sustain this growth, we need to expand our presence to other key IT hubs in the country. We believe Chennai has a rich talent pool in the field of Information Technology and great work ethic. It has the reputation of being an industry-friendly state. We are confident that MindTree will benefit from its presence in Chennai and be able to attract technology talent from the neighbouring states as well," said MindTree Consulting Chairman and Managing Director Ashok Soota.

Earlier this year, MindTree also leased 20 acres of land in Bhubaneshwar for a new development center.
