Genpact opens 80,000 sq ft facility in Rajarhat, Kolkata | INRnews

Kolkata, October 17, 2006 - Genpact, a pioneer and global leader in high-quality Business Services and Technology Solutions, today inaugurated a new 80,000 square feet facility in Kolkata.

The new facility, leased from the DLF Group, is located at the newly constructed DLF IT Park at Rajarhat and has been set up with a total investment of Rs. 15 crore in infrastructure and IT. The center has the capacity to seat around 1000 associates who will provide knowledge process outsourcing services primarily in the field of Finance & Accounting; Business Analytics; Software Development; IT Helpdesk Support and Insurance to Genpact’s customers across the globe.

Genpact was among the first to set up its BPO operations in the State of West Bengal in Kolkata over a year ago and currently employs close to 375 associates in the city and plans to increase its employee strength to 5000 associates in three to four years.

Commenting at the inauguration of the new facility, Indranil Choudhury, Site Leader- Kolkata, Genpact said, “With a large talent pool and a favorable industrial climate, Kolkata has grown to become an important location for Genpact. We have been servicing some of our major global clients from Kolkata and our rapid growth over the year is testimony to the quality of work being driven from here.”

“Our new facility will play a critical role in helping us realize our vision to build Genpact into the undisputed global leader in technology-enabled business-process services,” he added.

The company invests US$ 8 million annually in employee training and was named India's "Most Admired BPO" by the India times BPO Industry Awards 2006. Dataquest ranked Genpact #1 in employee satisfaction last year. The company has received numerous other "Employer of Choice" awards in India and China for its progressive people practices.

Genpact Hiring Office at Kolkata
To reach out to potential employees in the state of West Bengal, Genpact established its hiring office in the heart of Kolkata city last year. Since then, over a 1000 candidates have been recruited from across the state and deployed to Genpact centers in Gurgaon, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Bangalore & Kolkata. The Genpact hiring office invites candidates to walk in with their resume and subject to assessment and subsequent training offers careers at any of the Genpact centers in India. This initiative has been tremendously successful and has resulted in Genpact setting other hiring offices in the cities of Visakhapatnam, Kochi, Delhi, Noida, Jaipur, Indore, Bhopal, Dehradun and Lucknow.
