Road improvement works in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry sanctioned

New Delhi, September 14, 2006 : The Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Thiru T.R. Baalu has approved road improvement works in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

A sum of Rs. 373.24 Lakh has been sanctioned for the work of Improvement of Riding Quality in Km 28/0 to km 31/0; km 45 to km 53/0 and km 54 to km 56/0 of Madurai-Rameshwaram road on NH-49 in Tamil Nadu.

Thiru Baalu has also approved a sum of Rs. 461.21 lakh for the work of Improvement of Riding Quality in Km 173/400 to km 186/800 of NH-45A in Pondicherry. This stretch passes through Industrial area and most of the portion is having a number of pot holes and cracks.
