Hyderabad to see new retail outlets

Hyderabad, September 15, 2006: ITC has opened it's first farm-fresh produce store "Choupal Fresh" in Hyderabad. The 2,500 sq.ft store will provide fresh fruit and vegetables on a wholesale and retail basis.

The company plans to set up 140 such stores across India with an investment of Rs. 800 crore. ITC estimates that the organised retail market for fresh produce will reach Rs 5,000 crore within three years.

Also in Hyderabad, Pantaloon Retail plans to open the "Brand Factory", a discount price store for fashion brands. The stores will offer apparel, footwear and other accessories in a large format store of between 60,000 to 100,000 sq.ft . Another Brand Factory store is planned for Bangalore.
