Bangalore - Land acquisition for new airport expressway to begin soon
The process of acquiring around 300 acres of land for the proposed 4-lane airport link expressway will soon be underway. The acquisition cost is estimated at Rs.300 to Rs.400 crores.
The proposed link road will cover 30 kms and connect the outer ring road at Nagawara with the Bangalore International Airport. The expressway will be about 100mts wide and will run parallel to a rail link proposed earlier. There will be no other roads branching off the expressway and the only intersection point will be with the peripheral ring road.
The Bangalore Metropolitan Region Development Authority will run the project with private participation on the basis of BOOT (build, own, operate and transfer).
While private participation will be invited in January, plans are for the project to be completed in 36 months according to the Chief Secretary of Bangalore, B K Das.
