Chennai Metro Rail Project may be partly funded by Central Govt
Union Minister Mr. Jaipal Reddy said the central govt. could provide up to 20% of the cost of an infrastructure project as viability gap funding. A Chennai Metro Rail project is being proposed by the Tamil Nadu government. Metro rail projects are already coming up in Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai and Hyderabad.
The need for a standard legal framework for the public-private-partnership model (PPP) to address the risk perception of investors was also noted by Mr. Reddy.

sir,
we have to consider china as an example. their main formula for success is its infrstructure.they are spending more in building express ways , advanced railway system. even if we spent at least half the amount as tehy spent , we could have one of the best transportation system in asia.
