Board of Approvals approves 45 SEZ projects in India
Proposals received for setting up of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) are considered by an Inter-Ministerial Committee known as the Board of Approval (BOA), in its meeting held every month. Amongst the approvals are plans for international IT majors to use SEZ as their investment avenue. Google plans a 1 million sq. ft., back office in an SEZ in Andhra Pradesh. Dell is eyeing an Andhra Pradesh SEZ for a manufacturing unit. Accenture is looking at investments to be located at an SEZ, likely in Karnataka.
