AP Govt. to come out with policy on land acquisition soon
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, announced that the state Govt. would soon have a policy to streamline land acquisition for development of projects. Earlier, the govt. experienced difficulties in acquiring land for infrastructure projects with an exponential rise in land prices being a major hurdle.
The policy is required to make easy the acquisition of land for the govt.'s proposed Special Economic Zones within the state.
According to Union Minister Mr. Jaipal Reddy, around Rs.1 lakh crores will be spent on infrastructure over the next 6 years. Rs.50,000 crores is expected to come from the union Government's Urban Infrastructure Development Fund with various state and municipal govt mobilising the rest.
