Goa allots land for pharma and biotech parks, and SEZ

The Goa Assembly was informed by Industries Minister Luizinho Faleiro that the Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) has allotted more than 11.8 million square metres of land for the development of a pharma park/Special Economic Zone at Keri and other biotech parks in the State.

1.2 million square metres have been alloted to Meditab Specialities for setting up the pharma park/SEZ at Bhootkhamb, Keri in Ponda taluka. The land is leased at the rate of Rs 80 per square metre.

The state government has also received two proposals to start biotech parks in Goa from Inox Mercantile Co Pvt Ltd and Peninsula Pharma Research Centre Pvt Ltd. The parties are in the process of gaining GOI/GOG approvals for the biotech park projects.
